For those of you who have just upgraded to the latest Windows operating system, you may have noticed a few bugs along the way. For instance, when you plug in your iPhone or iPad and start up iTunes, you may notice that iTunes doesn’t recognize your device off the bat. Here is a viable solution for that problem:

1. Go to Control Panel and find Device Manager or simply type in Device Manager in the Search bar.

2. In Device Manager, click the Portable Devices arrow, then highlight the Apple iPhone/iPad.

3. Right-click on Apple iPhone/iPad and select Update Driver Software.

4. Click on Browse my computer for driver software, then click Browse.

5. In the Browse for folder window, under the C: drive, go to Program Files (or Program Files x86) > Common Files > Apple > Mobile Device Support > Drivers. Then select OK. (This action will search in the drivers folder for the correct driver to install)

6. Once the Driver folder is selected, click Next and the driver will be successfully installed to run your iOS device.

You now should be able to go to iTunes to setup your iDevice as normal by following the rest of the instructions from there.
